Catch Up Day

Posted on

Headed down to Waltham, MA this AM to coach a U18 premier club team as a favor to a friend in the annual Needham Memorial Day tournament. 9AM kickoff and it was windy and a bit chilly for the end of May but then again, this is New England. Really good group of players and good kids to coach. Many of them are going to some pretty good schools in the fall including Providence College, Holy Cross, George Washington and Saint Anselm to mention a few. The team played well and we walked away with a comfortable 3-0 win.

By the end of the game the Dunkins was wearing off and I was not looking forward to the 1 hour+ drive home. Made it back after a stop at Costco in Danvers, MA (what a zoo!) I rolled into the home driveway about 1PM, went straight upstairs and did not reappear until almost 7PM. I am sure it is the early mornings and the drive in and out of Boston but in the back of my mind I think I am feeling a bit of the radiation taking it’s toll as well.

We will see how things go after a full day of coaching and recruiting tomorrow. 8:20 AM for the first game then 4:10 PM to round out the day on the coaching side. I have games straight thru in between all day to watch with over 40 kids to evaluate. Should be fun and I am hoping the nap today and a good nights sleep will put me back on track.

Well, that does not sound like exactly like a weekend of rest !!  however the nice offset is that you are involved with the game and people you love, and that counts for much !!!!  B-Bro
